If there is anything I have learned over the past 6 or 7 months it has been the shortness of our lives and the amount of time most of us spend finding faults and wrongs and nursing the offenses that life throws our way.
We have no way of knowing what phone call is going to come in 5 minutes from now, or the letter that will arrive next week….or the diagnosis from the medical test that we’ve been putting off.
We watch the political scene with angst and anger and let it settle into our inner lives and lose sleep and friends. While I am not one to hold political leanings against others, I am tiring of the anger and the absolute intolerance for anyone who doesn’t conform with “their” ideals. I suggest keeping in touch with your local government officials and the elected officials and pay attention to what is going on. Action is much better than just being angry.
But…overall…. Our days are numbered and we need to make them count.
We need to take better care of our bodies and brains. We need to take better care of our relationships and loved ones. These are not optional things. These are the things that you don’t regret spending time on in those final years.
I am refocusing on finding useful and practical things that will help you live your best life and find ways to life joy-filled and find time for the things that will always matter.
